As a child I fell into the lake and was terrified of the water and never went into pools or open water unless it was only at my waist until I was 10 years old. I always believed in facing your fears, even as a 10 year old I knew I had to get over my fear of water. After I learned to swim it changed how I saw water. For a long time I painted abstract images and often I felt they were images of water, the sea, what's in the ocean. I think these images came from my fears, curiosity and overcoming my fears. Now the beach, a pool is my happy place.
